Animal Control and Enforcement Unit

The Georgetown County Sheriff's Office Animal Control and Enforcement Unit enforces animal control laws in the unincorporated areas of Georgetown County. The Animal Control and Enforcement Unit handles call involving dogs, but does not handle call involving cats or wild animals.

Litter Control and Enforcement Unit

The Georgetown County Sheriff's Office Litter Control and Enforcement Deputies as well as Uniform Patrol Deputies enforce the litter laws in the county. The Litter Control and Enforcement Unit patrol the county to identify and investigate litter problems and locate illegal dumping areas. The Sheriff’s Office also promotes programs to reduce littering throughout the county.

The Sheriff's Office also works to clean up litter throughout the county by deploying a prison work detail to clean up along the county's roadways. Each year tons of litter are cleaned up and taken to the landfill.
