CITIZEN COMPLAINTS LEAD TO MULTIPLE ARRESTS

(November 18, 2025) Sheriff Carter Weaver has announced six arrests near Hanna Loop in the Knox Swamp area of Georgetown County as a result of citizen complaints and other information.

The Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics and Vice Unit conducted a traffic stop Monday, Nov. 17, 2025, on a vehicle where the driver, Maniel Dorsey, fled on foot but was quickly apprehended. Deputies found a large quantity of suspected fentanyl and a handgun on Dorsey’s person. Suspected cocaine was found on two other occupants of the vehicle, Kimberly Moore and Kevin Palmer. Additionally, Palmer had active Family Court warrants out of Georgetown County.

The Narcotics and Vice Unit along with deputies from the Patrol Division executed a search warrant in the 100 block of Hanna Loop. Deputies discovered trafficking amounts of fentanyl as well as distribution quantities of cocaine, marijuana and hydrocodone pills as well as multiple firearms. One was found to be stolen. Subsequently, Roderick Weaver, Herbert Leon Moore, and Catherine Hughes were arrested on multiple charges.

Warrants have been obtained for:
Maniel Lathorn Dorsey: Trafficking fentanyl 1st offense, Possession of a weapon during a violent crime, PWID cocaine 1st offense, PWID marijuana 1st offense, PWID Schedule II C/S 1st offense, Possession of a stolen firearm.
Kimberly Shyann Moore: Possession of Cocaine 1st offense.
Kevin Tyrone Palmer: PWID Cocaine 1st offense, Contempt of Family Court.
Roderick Weaver: Trafficking Fentanyl 2nd offense, Possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, Possession of a weapon during a violent crime, PWID Cocaine 2nd offense, PWID Marijuana 2nd offense, Possession of a stolen firearm, and PWID Schedule II C/S 2nd offense.
Herbert Leon Moore: Possession of Cocaine 3rd offense
Catherine Lynn Hughes: Wanted by the Georgetown City Police Department for Financial Transaction Card Fraud.
