Sheriff Carter Weaver has announced a charge of attempted murder against a 22-year-old man after a shot was fired at a convenience store on May 25.

Harry Oxner, Jr. was arrested as a result of a report of a shooting incident at Joe's Quick Mart at South Fraser Street and Pennyroyal Road. The victim identified Oxner as the individual who fired a single gunshot into the driver's door of his vehicle after an argument over a gasoline spill at the store's pumps.

The suspect was transported to Georgetown County Detention Center where he is being held pending warrants. The incident resulted in no injuries.
