STUDENT CHARGED WITH MAKING THREATS AT CARVERS BAY HIGH

Sheriff Carter Weaver has announced the arrest of an 18-year-old Carvers Bay High School student today for threatening to shoot up her school.
Tatiyona Mention, a senior at the school, was taken into custody and charged as an adult, pending a warrant, with school threats by deputies from Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office. She is being held at Georgetown County Detention Center pending a bond hearing.
Investigators inspected the student’s home and found no weapons.
The student will also be subject to the Georgetown County School District’s disciplinary policy.
Carvers Bay High School remained under normal operating conditions throughout the day.
