SUSPECT IDENTIFIED IN STRING OF BURGLARIES

Sheriff Carter Weaver reports that a suspect in a string of burglaries in the Northwest area of the county has been identified and detained. Marcus Montrell Garner of Bishopville was found earlier today in possession of a stolen vehicle by Florence County Sheriff’s Office. When the contents of the vehicle were run through NCIC, they were linked to burglaries in the Carter Crossroads and Williams Hill area that took place between May 19 and May 22, 2025.

All three burglaries involved breaking and entering by kicking in doors and the perpetrator made off with firearms, televisions, jewelry, and a computer. Garner is currently incarcerated in the Florence County Detention Center.
