2021-09-01: Murder investigation is top priority, and public assistance is needed

Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office investigators continue to follow leads and collect evidence in the murders of Ben Franklin Jr., 38, and Kiashia Aaliyah Green, 25, at a residence on Sutton Road. They are working closely with the families to solve these crimes.
“Senseless violence like this will not be accepted as the norm in Georgetown County,” said Sheriff Carter Weaver. “We are doing everything possible to find those responsible. There are people who know what happened that night on Sutton Road, and our community’s safety depends on them coming forward and helping solve this crime. Some have offered small details that have helped move the investigation forward. If you hear something, say something.”
