No current or foreseen interruptions to sheriff's office core services due to county cyber hack

Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office will continue to provide all normal law enforcement services to the public. The 911 telephone system remains in operation and is available for emergencies. Services that will not be available for an undetermined time are: copies of incident reports, background checks and permits for metal collection and shooting range.
E-mail capabilities are also non-existent.

At this time, it is uncertain when systems may be up again. Anyone trying to reach the Georgetown County
Sheriff’s Office should do so by dialing (843) 546-5102.

Georgetown County’s computer network suffered a major infrastructure breach over the weekend. The breach impacts most of the county’s electronic systems, including county emails. At this time, it is uncertain when systems may be up again. Anyone trying to reach a county office should do so via phone. (Georgetown County press release)

The Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office website gcsheriff.org, the county’s website, gtcounty.org, are still operational along with the Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page. Additional updates may be found there as they become available.
