SGT. A.J. KOHUT HONORED BY LAW ENFORCEMENT GROUP

Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. A.J. Kohut was recognized Thursday by the Community Law Enforcement Appreciation Committee.

Kohut was named the January 2020 Law Enforcement Officer.

Kohut serves as a school resource officer at Waccamaw High School for the Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office. “[Kohut] is well-respected by all the people of Pawleys Island and the Waccamaw Neck,” said Sheriff Carter Weaver of Georgetown County. “Waccamaw High is a safer place because of him.”

The Community Law Enforcement Appreciation Committee serves to connect the community and law enforcement through public events and civic service.
